But check out his coins — they’re connected by an infinity loop, meaning the movement of one affects the movement of the other. This is an important reminder! Everything is connected. If we direct all our attention and energy to one thing, then something else gets no attention and energy. How can we balance that out a bit? How can we meet those work deadlines and find time to garden? How can we care for our loved ones and take a quiet 20 minutes to read a book by ourselves?
The world around you will always be in motion and throwing new things your way. So this lunar cycle, take a couple extra breaths every now and then and scan for what’s holding your attention hostage and what’s being neglected. And maybe find your own jaunty lil’ hat to wear, as a reminder to keep it playful.
MY CHALLENGE FOR YOU: Sometimes when I’m feeling really scattered and off-kilter, I return to my yoga practice and physically make my body balance. Give it a whirl! Stand in tree pose or come to your hands and knees and try balancing table. Or just stand on one foot and try to raise your hands above your head. Notice how when you’re finding your balance, your body is also making dozens of tiny movements to keep you from falling over. That, my friends, is what we call a metaphor! Even when we find a state of balance, we have to stay in motion to maintain it. Balance — it’s a constant journey!

Two of pentacles
The Two of Pentacles is all about balance and flexibility. I mean, look at this lil’ guy on our card. He’s wearing his jaunty red hat. The waters behind him are turbulent but he’s on solid ground. All his weight is on his right foot but he isn’t falling over. One of his hands is gripping a coin and his other is holding a coin with ease. And look at the expression on his face — this guy isn’t stressed one bit. He’s in balance. He’s having fun. He’s feeling good.
This card reminds us that a key to ease and happiness is finding balance and flexibility. Move with the flow and all that. And I know, I know. This guy is juggling two smooth, rounded objects of the same size and weight. Meanwhile, we’re over here with work deadlines to meet and meals to prep and chores to complete and family dynamics to manage and schedules to organize and errands to run and on and on. Who can feel balanced when there’s so much always in motion?
